The Fort de Chartres State Historic Site will host a Kids Day free family event on Saturday, May 5 from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.
Kids Day will feature period games, contests, and crafts for children. Volunteer interpreters will be on site to allow children to try their hand at 18th century rope making, archery, games and other activities. Kids can enlist to be a Fort de Chartres French Marine and can take a chance at becoming king or queen by finding the bean in the Kings cake. All children must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times.
Concessions will be available for sale throughout the day.
The Kids Day event at Fort de Chartres is supported by the Prairie du Rocher Chamber of Commerce and is sponsored by Les Amis du Fort de Chartres, with additional support from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources.
