The Randolph County Cutters & Strutters Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation has made the decision to cancel the 2020 JAKES Day at the World Shooting & Recreational Complex in light of the ATA’s Grand American event being canceled by the Illinois Department of Health and the Illinois Department of Natural Resources. This directive, as part of Phase 4 of the governor’s Restore Illinois Plan, limits the number of individuals to 50 in a group for any event.
With the coronavirus still in the area, the RCCS as the supporting sponsor, did not want to take any unnecessary risks, opting for “Better safe than sorry.”
The RCCS hopes that they will be able to hold JAKES Day in August 2021 and have it be a better hands-on day of fun outdoor activities. To the area youth, they are truly sorry for not being able to conduct JAKES Day this year.
