The two-day annual Fort de Chartres Rendezvous will be held this weekend June 2-3. The annual event features shooting competitions, military drills, dancing, music, food and traders of 18th century-style goods.
The popular free event will be held from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday, at the Fort de Chartres State Historic Site near Prairie du Rocher.
The Fort de Chartres Rendezvous event is hosted by Les Coureurs des Bois de Fort de Chartres and sponsored by Les Amis du Fort de Chartres, with additional support from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources.
The event is free and open to the public, with special event parking available for just $5 per car. Donations are welcomed.
