After a win against Dupo, the Musketeers were scheduled to play the East-Alton Wood River Oilers, however due to heavy snow the game was postponed and will be played at a later date. The Musketeers took on the Valmeyer Pirates Dec. 21. They knew it would be a tough conference game, but coming off a win, they were confident.
The Musketeers’ offense started out very sluggish. They could not hit their three-pointers and missed some of their easy shots close to the rim. The defense kept them in the game only allowing 12 points in the quarter. The score was 12-6 after the first.
The Musketeers stepped it up offensively a little more in the second. Jayden Birkner scored six and Max Diewald put in a two-pointer. The defense stayed relatively stable, only giving up another 12. The score going into half was 24-17.
