Hearing for proposed county wind ordinance will be held July 16 in Ruma

On June 14, Randolph County Director of Land Resource Management Joe Hackler, on behalf of the county planning commission, presented to the Randolph County Board a draft plan regarding rules and regulations for commercial wind farm development in Randolph County. The county board instructed Hackler to set up a public hearing for a date after the draft plan has been available to the public for 30 days.

The public hearing has been set for Tuesday, July 16 from 6-9 p.m. at St. Patrick’s Church Hall, No. 1 Pioneer Lane in Ruma. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m.

Anyone wishing to speak must sign up to do so prior to the meeting beginning. To sign up, interested individuals should send an email to the Randolph County Land Resource Management (LRM) staff at [email protected], call the LRM office at 618-826-5000 ext. 228, or sign up in person between 5:30 and 6 p.m. the night of the meeting.
