A brief hearing was held on Jan. 10 for Kenneth M. Falkenhein at the Randolph County Courthouse.
Falkenhein, 26, of Red Bud, had been arrested on Dec. 26 and charged with involuntary manslaughter and child endangerment causing the death of three month old Jamison Gleason of Chester on May 1, 2018.
When arrested, Falkenhein’s bond was set at $35,000. He was listed as released from the Randolph County Jail on Jan. 2 after posting $3,500, which is the required 10 percent of the bond amount.
Although, at last Thursday’s hearing, Falkenhein appeared before Judge Richard Brown in handcuffs. The evening prior to his hearing, Falkenhein had been detained in Monroe County on a Perry County, MO warrant.
Falkenhein opted to waive his preliminary hearing and a case management hearing for the case was set for Feb. 22 at 10 a.m.
