At their Aug. 9 meeting, the Randolph County Board of Commissioners approved the loan documents, a resolution and agreements for the Randolph County Care Center roof project.
Commissioner Marc Kiehna, who has spent considerable time working on this project, noted that through the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) they were able to receive a loan for $298,000 to pay for the roof. He added that the county is receiving this funding at a rate of 3.5 percent for a term of 20 years.
“It makes it very affordable for the county,” he stated. “We are very fortunate that the USDA is providing this opportunity.”
The scheduled closing for the roof project financing will be on Aug. 19, with a pre-construction meeting to follow. The bid winner for the project was noted as Joiner Roofing.
