Chamber’s annual Holiday Happenings returned to Red Bud

WINNING FLOAT–On Friday night, Red Bud Regional Hospital’s Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer themed float took first place in the annual Holiday Happenings Lighted Parade. The hospital also had accompanying floats honoring Red Bud’s 150 birthday and the history of the hospital. Even a strong storm blowing through mid-day on Saturday couldn’t stop this year’s Holiday Happenings event.

The Chamber’s annual event-filled holiday weekend kicked off last Friday night with the lighted parade.

While there are no official numbers on how many came out to view the parade, quite the crowd showed up and enjoyed the amazing weather that evening and watching the 30 plus floats.

This year the honors of having the top float went to Red Bud Regional Hospital. Second place went to Monroe County Electric Co-Operative and third to St. John’s Lutheran.

Many enjoyed seeing the Clydesdales pulling Santa’s sleigh at the end of the parade. The horses were from JFP Equine out of Waterloo. Riding with Santa in the sleigh this year were Little Miss Red Bud Alison Koester, Little Mister Red Bud Bentley Kreher and Little Mister candidate Charlie Muench.
