Candidates have filed for primary election

Filing closed on Monday for candidates in the 2020 elections. (The primary will be held on March 17 and the general election on Nov. 3.)

Randolph County does not have any contested races for the primary and only one for the general.

Filing on the Democratic primary ballot were incumbents Sherry Johnson for circuit clerk, Jeremy Walker for state’s attorney and Carlos Barbour for coroner. They are joined by Red Bud Mayor Timothy Lowry, who is running for commissioner.

On the Republican primary ballot, the only one for a county office is incumbent Ronald “Ronnie” White for commissioner.
