The Randolph County Bicentennial Tourism Committee will hold a public celebration at the Randolph County Museum on Sunday, Dec. 3 at 1:30 p.m.
Members will raise the official Bicentennial Flag and Randolph County Commissioners will read a proclamation in honor of the Illinois State Bicentennial celebration that runs from Dec. 3, 2017, to Dec. 3, 2018. A reenactor will present Governor Shadrach Bond to the assembled crowd.
The first 50 visitors signing in Dec. 3 will receive a free Bicentennial lapel pin. More pins will be available for purchase.
The museum will be open 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, and noon to 3 p.m. Sunday to honor this important occasion.
