The Auxiliary to Red Bud VFW Post 6632 is happy to announce the winners from their Patriot’s Pen contest.
The Patriot’s Pen essay contest is open to sixth, seventh and eighth grade students in public, home-schooled, private or parochial schools. The theme for this year’s essay was “Why I Honor the American Flag.” There were a total of 97 entries submitted from St. John’s Lutheran, St. John the Baptist, Trinity, Prairie du Rocher and Red Bud Elementary Schools.
The winners were: first place: Karson Liefer, a sixth grader at St. John’s Lutheran; second place: Tray Fabie, an eighth grader at St. John Baptist; and third place: Emma Steibel, a seventh grader at St. John Baptist.
