Appointment made to county board of review

Randolph County’s Board of Review is finally full after the Randolph County Commissioners approved an appointment at their April 5 meeting.

At one of the commissioners’ previous meetings, it was noted that Christopher Koeneman had declined an appointment to the board of review, so the commissioners would need to appoint another person. Unfortunately, it is hard to find someone with the proper qualifications.

County Board Chairman David Holder noted that the county held an open test at the courthouse for those that would be interested in taking the board of review test. But they did not have anyone from Randolph County qualify in time to make the appointment.

Holder stated that Randolph County Assessor Doug Sachtleben had some recommendations.

Sachtleben’s recommendations included Jeff Robinson of Williamson County and Andy Clarke of Alexander County. Both currently serve on four boards of review and Robinson is also the assessor in Williamson County.

“Both are willing,” Sachtleben told the commissioners. “Both are the best guys you could possibly get.”
