TheSt. Louis Post-Dispatch Scholar Athlete program recently announced this year’s recipients which includes one student from every area school. Requirements are that they participate in athletics and excel in the classroom. Red Bud High School Senior Alyssa Heller is among this year’s recipients.
The chosen young men and women must have lettered in at least one varsity sport, are in the top 25 percent of their graduating class and in good standing at their respective high schools.
Heller participated in volleyball, basketball and track and field and is ranked number one out of the class of 86 students. She is an honor roll student and serves as National Honor Society president. She is a member of the Spanish Club; Platinum Chef; Math Team; Student Council (vice president); Class Executive Board; Advisory Council; Fellowship of Christian Athletes; FBLA (treasurer); yearbook staff and president of the Senior Youth Group at church.
