The 26thannual Marigold Fish Fry was held on Sunday, Sept. 8 at the Marigold Community Center.

After opening the meeting (yes, Tim Wiegard, we really do have a meeting), Ray Wiegard nominated Bill Wiegard for mayor. Bill was unanimously reappointed as mayor of Marigold. Road Commissioner Bobby Schmidt was absent from the meeting, so Rick Walker was nominated as the new road commissioner and it was approved. Commissioner Walker reported that mowing will start soon (but not soon enough for those in attendance).

Zookeeper Dave Eichenseer made a motion that we build a wall along both sides of St. Leo’s to help keep the weeds off the road and to keep the armadillos and deer from illegally entering into Marigold. Instead of starting a GoFundMe account for the updates to the community center, the money would be used towards building the wall. Once the wall is built, we will be able to collect the aluminum cans that are thrown on the roadway and Mike Eichenseer will take them to be recycled. Tim Wiegard noted that the wall will also help keep Brandon Bush’s goats off St. Leo’s Road.
